- 1 ripe pear, peeled, halved, and cored
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- Pinch of saffron threads
- ¼ cup lemon curd
- 1 tbsp chopped pistachios
- 1 meringue nest, crumbled
- 6-8 raspberries
- Edible flowers, for garnish (optional)
- Icing sugar, for dusting (optional)

- In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and a pinch of saffron threads. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Carefully place the pear into the saffron-infused poaching liquid. Reduce the heat to low and let the pear poach for about 20 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a fork. Remove the pear from the poaching liquid and let cool. Once cooled, slice thinly.
