Yummy Caramelised Onions and Bacon Whiskey Sauce Burger

Ingredients     

Whiskey Sauce

  • 8 strips of bacon cut into pieces
  • ½ medium yellow onion
  • ½ ounce whiskey
  • ½ cup golden brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper

Burger

  • 4 brioche or sesame buns
  • 8 slices of cheese (2 per burger)
  • 4 Chef's Choice Burger 120g or 100g

Method

Whiskey Sauce

  1. In a skillet on medium heat, prepare and cook the bacon for approximately 10 minutes and set aside.
  2. Using the same skillet, cook your onions till brown for 5 minutes then add the brown sugar, and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add whiskey, Worcestershire sauce and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes, simmer on the side burner while burgers are cooking.

Burger

  1. Place Chef's Choice Burger 120g or 100g on the grill. If using 120g, cook for 5 minutes on each side. For 100g, cook for 4 minutes on each side.
  2. Take off heat. Add a slice of cheese and wait for the cheese to melt on top.
  3. Assemble the burger by adding lettuce and top with the whiskey sauce made beforehand.
